🎶 The Power of Music at Eastwood Memory Cafe 🎶

Last month we were delighted to welcome Sing Along with Ellie to Eastwood Memory Cafe while we held an information session for our carers, and what a truly special afternoon it turned out to be.

Ellie’s wonderful energy and big personality soon had the whole room filled with singing, smiling faces, and even a few people up on their feet dancing.

The atmosphere was simply wonderful.

Vic, who has been part of EMC for many years, sang throughout the session with the biggest smile on his face.

Seeing him and his wife Pat enjoying themselves so much was incredibly moving.

It was one of those moments that reminds us just how powerful music can be and remind us exactly why we do what we do.

We’re delighted that Vic and Pat, along with many of our members, have now joined the Eastwood Sing Along with Ellie group. Our next session will be on Tuesday 24th March.

We are always incredibly grateful for the support our charity receives from the community and so last Saturday we held a fundraising gig at the local football club starring the amazing “In Disguise”. Guests and friends of EMC enjoyed an evening of music, dancing and laughter with all funds raised going directly to our charity. Many thanks to In Disguise members for gifting your time and support over the years.

On Saturday 21st March we have another fundraiser at The New Horizon Church when we will once again be joined by the wonderful “Everyone Can Sing” and friends, as part of the “World Rocks Against Dementia “ initiative.  Come along for a fabulous time, enjoy great music and help us raise vital funds to support local people living with dementia. Tickets are £5 – please contact us for more details.

There is no denying the massive impact dementia has on our local community and beyond.

We may not have magic wands, but we can provide quality support, friendship, plenty of happy times and a shoulder to lean on during the difficult times.

Together, we can continue making moments of joy 💜
